Ilyas Faysullin was born on 15 August 1950 in the city of Tetyushi on the Volga. In 1970 he graduated from the Pedagogical High School of Fine Arts in Leningrad then he attended classes in the Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in St. Petersburg. He creates canvases and graphic works. Since 2001 he has bee working and living in Kazan.

Ilyas is a member of the Artists Union of Russia and Tatarstan and an active member of the Fine Arts Association of the UNESCO. The artist’s works are in private collections of Spain, Italy and England. Many of his works were acquired by the Administration of the President of Tatarstan for the Kremlin of Kasan.
