Denis Sholokhov was born in 1979 in Middle Asia. From the early childhood Denis was interested in painting. Since 1992 he has been living in the Rostov Region. His life in art is indissolubly connected with the Don Territory where he formed his own artistic view and learned his plastic language from nature.

The young artist’s talent is very bright and diverse. He works in different genres showing many-sided nature of his artistic interests. To enrich his impressions and emotions the artist constantly travels discovering new countries. Thus in 2005 Denis was in the Crimea and then dedicated a whole series of works to this mysterious land.

The most elegant cities of the world like Paris, Venice, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg inspired the artist to create wonderful cityscapes.

Bright and saturated colors fill the artist’s series of works “Flowers”, “Sea Studies”, “Landscapes of the Don Region” and “Cityscapes”. Working at the coloristic structure of the canvas the artist tries to emphasize the rich collection of tones and subtones. Soft and diffused light gives wonderful coloring to his paintings. Lyrical interpretation of nature which is peculiar to the artist fills his works with special feeling. Usually the artist’s landscapes radiate silent, clear and quiet joy caused by the revealed harmony and beauty of nature. His landscapes not only evoke strong emotions, they also have cognitive value. The artistic form of the artist’s works is simple, austere and absolutely clear. All his paintings are perfectly accomplished regarding the logic subordination of all details to the main idea, and carefully worked out details represented in the canvas.

In al his works both flowers, landscapes and still lifes Denis Sholokhov tries to penetrate into the real life of depicted objects praising harmony of the world.
