My name is Vladimir Kalinin. I was born in 1966 in Izhevsk. I am married, have a son. In 1992 I graduated from the State University of Udmurtia, Department of Design, Artistic and Graphic Faculty. Now I am a designer in the field of wrapping, polygraphy and publicity.

 

As far as I can remember myself, I have been painting, but serious works I started about 16 years ago. I took part in exhibitions, but I can not say in many, as in my city there is not much possibility for it.

 

In 1995 I was inviter to Moscow to participate in the International Conference “Sciences of the Mind”. The exhibition was a success. I received only favorable reviews from the critics. Then I got several offers to exhibit my works in the USA, but unfortunately there was no support in terms of finances and organization.

 

In my native city I held four personal exhibitions in the best halls. The public was inspired, people came again and again, there were only enthusiastic comments, but when the time came to exhibit the works not only in Izhevsk, I faced certain difficulties without a producer.

 

In 1996 5 times in succession my canvases were published on the cover-page of the “Science and Religion” magazine, there were several articles about my work and even TV programs.

 

Many of my works are in private collections all over the world.

 

As for myself, I like philosophy and reading. I am trying to follow the simple rule “Do what you should and what is predetermined will happen…” From one painting to another I am trying to explain myself where these images came from, and every time I can not find the answer. The most important thing in art is not perfect outlines or wonderful color but depth and the idea. I hope that people will find in my works the echo of their own feelings and reflections.
