Vladimir Volosov Vladimir Volosov was born in Saint-Petersburg (Leningrad) in 1937. Art is the second life of this outstanding, who used to be a physicist, Doctor of Science, Professor, winner of the State Prize, author of more than 100 scientific papers in the field of laser Physics and nonlinear optics. But at the age of 50 Vladimir Volosov left scientific activity and completely devoted himself to painting. He changed his profession and thus began to live a second life. During the past years he created more than 800 canvases shown in many exhibitions in Russia, Europe and the USA… About the Artist Vladimir Volosov is an artist of very unusual life. At mature age he was a famous scientist but he left science for painting and with unabated perseverance and ardent love for his new profession he began painting. He always paints with rare spontaneity, with joy of a person who first sees the charming nature with its eternal mysteries and secrets of light, space, mist and sun flashes, which he always tries to capture on his canvases. Vladimir Volosov constantly renders his spontaneous emotions, without being carried away by classical schemes or modern complexity. The secret of his success is in his longing for naturalness. The artist wants people to recognize in his paintings the nature, once seen by the artist’s loving eyes, which is also dear to them. However, lately the former placidity more and more often gives way to excited search for individuality and more active dialog with the modern artistic vision. We can only respect him for this searching. The new youth of the never aging artist promises a lot of surprises for all admirers of his talent.
